Receptionist Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Answering and triage phone calls
  • Greeting patients and obtaining pertinent patient information
  • Sending messages to staff
  • Scheduling of patients in an EMR (electronic medical records) system
  • Scanning of documents
  • Call incoming referrals from PCP’s and online submissions to schedule appointments
  • Data entry of patient demographics
  • Appointment confirmation calls

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • High school diploma (minimum)
  • EMR experience a plus but not required
  • Loves working on a team to accomplish goals
  • Strong understanding and commitment to protection of PHI (patient health information)
  • Self motivated to work independently
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills required
  • Flexibility and Reliability
  • Superior customer service skills / Professional demeanor with all interactions
  • A positive, open and friendly attitude
